LONG-HAUL TRACTOR

Mercedes-Benz Actros

The Actros (OM471 / OM473) is one of the most refined long-haul tractors on the road — and one of the most demanding when its emissions or fuel system goes out of spec. We work on Actros daily.

SYMPTOMS

What you'll notice

Tell-tale signs the Mercedes-Benz Actros is asking for attention.

  • Engine derate / limp mode with AdBlue warning lit
  • White smoke and uneven idle after cold start
  • Loss of pulling power under load on inclines
  • Increased fuel consumption with no obvious cause
DIAGNOSTICS

How we find the fault

  1. 1

    Full Xentry / DAS scan

Read all control units, capture freeze-frame and historic fault codes from MCM, ACM and CPC modules.

  2. 2

    SCR & AdBlue live data

Verify NOx sensor readings upstream/downstream, dosing pressure, and urea quality output.

  3. 3

    Boost & EGR flow test

Compare actual vs commanded boost; inspect EGR valve actuation and cooler back-pressure.

  4. 4

    Road test under load

Confirm fault no longer reproduces and parameters stay within OEM tolerances.

TYPICAL REPAIRS

What we fix on the Mercedes-Benz Actros

AdBlue pump & dosing module

Replace failed dosing valve, refresh urea lines, prime and re-learn the system.

Turbo VNT actuator overhaul

Replace electronic actuator, calibrate stroke via Xentry.

EGR cooler & valve service

Strip, clean or replace EGR cooler; new gaskets and updated valve when carbon-locked.
